Dr Mullany is a senior staff specialist in intensive care medicine and anaesthesia at the Prince Charles Hospital and Holy Spirit Northside Private Hospital Brisbane, Australia. Dan trained in anaesthesia and intensive care in Queensland before doing a fellowship in critical care at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore. He completed a masters’ degree in epidemiology and biostatistics in 2002. He was director of intensive care at the Prince Charles Hospital from 2003 to 2009. His research interests are how organisational factors and new technology influence outcomes in cardiothoracic intensive care patients.
