Jonathan completed undergraduate training at the Royal Free & University College Medical School London in 2009. Alongside clinical training in intensive care medicine, he has held academic appointments at Queen’s University Belfast and at the University of Glasgow. He is currently a doctoral fellow at the Critical Care Research Group, University of Queensland. He is fortunate to be supported by the NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence for Advanced Cardiorespiratory Therapies Improving Organ Support. Under the supervision of Prof John Fraser and Prof Danny McAuley, his work explores the interaction between stem cell therapy and ECMO in pre-clinical models of ARDS. He is a recipient of the UK Intensive Care Society New Investigator award, as well as grants from the Queensland Government, The Prince Charles Hospital Foundation, and the Wesley Foundation. Presently he is an investigator on several ongoing clinical trials including OXYBAR, a randomised controlled trial of high flow nasal oxygen after bariatric surgery.
